ONE HUNDRED DAYS OF SCHOOL!

On Tuesday, January 22, 2008, the CCS First Graders celebrated 100 days of school!  We had a busy but fun day celebrating.

We counted to 100, we read some fun books about the 100th day of school, and we illustrated poems about 100 Stars and 100 Pennies.  We even made our own books - "My 100th Day of School Book".  Here are some of the pages in our books:  "I could eat 100________, I could never eat 100 ________, I wish I had 100 _________, I wouldn't want 100 _________, if I had 100 dollars I would buy __________."

We enjoyed looking at all the posters our classmates made using 100 things. (Click on any thumbnail for a larger view.)

We tossed a coin 100 times.  It landed on heads 49 times and tails 51 times.  We also rolled a number cube 100 times.  It landed on 1 more than any other number.

We worked 100 piece puzzles - it was harder than we expected!  Here we are getting ready to start putting our puzzles together.  We are also posting pictures of the finished puzzles!

We also did a lot of counting.  Some of our classmates brought 100 things to share, so we sorted them into stacks by counting by 2's, 5's, 10's and 25's.

We didn't stop celebrating there, either.  We carried our activities over into our 101st day of school and enjoyed watching a movie.  Yep, you guessed it - 101 Dalmatians.
