Our language curriculum requires our third graders to write book reports. There are a total of three book reports that we do.  The first one is over The Secret in the Maple Tree that we read together in class.  When we finish reading the book, we work on the book report together so the children have an idea of what will be expected of them.  The next book report is on a fiction book of the children's choosing.  The final report is over a biography that the children have chosen to read.  Along with the report, the children also do a presentation of the person they chose to read about.  Most of the children enjoy the presentation because they get to dress up like the person they read about.
