November Oral Reports
The third week of November holds two special events. One is Thanksgiving and the other is National Family Week. As a family, sit down and have each person list 5 things they are thankful for and be able to tell why they are thankful for each of them. Each person in the family should have their own 8 1/2 x 11 piece of paper (let me know if you need some) with the items they are thankful for written in complete sentences (third graders can help younger siblings with their writing). Each person should illustrate their own page, you may be as creative as you wish with your designs. The final step is to design a cover page for your family’s pages. There is no need for you to “bind” the pages together because I will be putting every family’s “book” together in a binder so all the pages must be going the same direction (up and down).
Construction paper works well for the cover pages (as long as it is 8 ½ x 11) and I will send home protective sheets to slide all of your final copies into if you need them. The final publication of your book may be typed on the computer if you wish. It is important that each page represents a member of your family (with their name on it and age if it’s a child). If you have any questions about the layout of our class books (with the protective sheets in the binders) please stop by the room and check out some of the books we have already put together this way.
If you have any questions, please stop by and ask or give me a call.
