October Oral Reports
October is National go on a field trip month! Your assignment for October is to pick a place you would like to go on a field trip to (be realistic). Tell us all about it: how long has the place been around, who started it, would you want to work there, how you would get the whole class there (there are virtual field trips available on the internet www.scholastic.com/fieldtrp/), how far away is it, why you would go there and how you can convince me to take you there are some of the topics you can cover! Please bring in any information you have on your area of interest, brochures, pictures, pamphlets, etc (mounted on poster board). These reports will begin on Monday, October 2nd.
Here is a list of possible topics to help get you started. Feel free to pick one of these or make up one of your own. I will let you know what your topic is after you select your top three choices:

Retirement community Post Office
Newspaper, printer hospital
Manufacturing company college
Greenhouse Beauty parlor/barber shop
Bank or credit union Pet store/human society
Veterinary clinic Butcher/meat shop
Street and sanitation dept. bakery
I would like to know what your child will be reporting on to help alleviate any repeats. There are lots of fun places to go without visiting the same place twice! Please return the bottom portion, filled out, and keep the top portion to help you remember what the topic is and what you need to include. The calendar is attached so please make sure to check your child’s report date!
Remember: For all reports (unless otherwise noted) you MUST include a written or typed page of info (parents can do the typing). on the topic, a poster board with pictures and/or info., and present your info. orally). This report will be graded as a language quiz grade. You will be graded on your poster board info., written paragraphs, and oral presentation (as long as your child completes the assignment grading will be very lenient!!).
