September Oral Report

Okay parents, here it is!  It’s time for our first oral report.  Your child will need to prepare information about himself to share with the class.  At least one written paragraph (no more than 3) about your child along with pictures on poster board (poster board may be any size) will be required.  I would like for your child to do the actual writing of the paragraph(s) but, you may help with sentence structure, ideas, etc.  Please help your child by selecting the pictures to bring in to class so you know what pictures are coming in (posting the pictures on poster board works well so everyone can see them and they don’t get lost), gathering items that tell us more about their likes or talents, or anything else you can think of that will help the class (and me) get to know more about your child.

Some items to include in the paragraph(s) are:  their birthday, where they were born, parent’s names, grandparent info., siblings, favorite color, favorite place to visit, favorite restaurants, favorite toys, family traditions, any pets, their favorite thing to do with their grandparents and if they could be any Bible character who would they be and why.  Pets are welcome only with advance notice

The children may read their information for the oral presentation.  Help them practice for this by having them give their presentation in front of their family making sure they look up at the “audience” every once in a while.  The presentation needs to be about 30 seconds (I’m not as concerned with the length as I am with the information) in length.

Feel free to call me with any questions you may have.  This month’s report is just for practice. October through May they will be counted as a language quiz grade.  Grading will be based on poster board neatness, written information and the oral presentation (this being 50% of the grade).
